Building Brand Reputation for Mj Flood Coffee

The opportunity: a new premium category for MJ Flood

Workplace coffee is treated as a commodity,  a machine in the corner and a monthly invoice. MJ Flood saw a bigger prize: a branded coffee experience that could command a premium and open a new revenue category, without diluting the service credibility the group is known for. CDG built the strategy, brand and digital platform to turn that opportunity into a market-ready business.

The brief was not ‘design us a coffee brand.’ It was: help us build a new business.

The strategy: own the ritual, not the vending machine

CDG identified the strategic territory that would allow Mistara to operate credibly between café-quality coffee and workplace practicality, a space neither vending suppliers nor coffee shops occupy. The positioning we defined centred on ritual, focus, and workplace culture: premium coffee moments built for the rhythm of the working day.

This was a deliberate commercial decision. By owning ‘ritual’ rather than competing on price or machine specification, Mistara becomes a proposition that decision-makers buy into emotionally as well as commercially. Not a supply contract. An upgrade to the working day.

The positioning also gave MJ Flood something more valuable than a product: a brand capable of standing independently, extending across formats, and building its own market presence over time.

A brand built to justify the premium

CDG built Mistara from the ground up: brand strategy and positioning, a distinctive visual identity drawn from flow, mist, and the atmosphere of quality coffee, a digital platform engineered to generate qualified B2B leads, packaging designed to hold premium cues as the range extends, and a phased social strategy built to create commercial pull rather than just brand awareness.

Every element was designed with scale in mind. One coherent brand world that keeps Mistara recognisable as it grows across roasts, formats, environments, and eventually, sectors.

The foundation is built. The growth program is underway.

Mistara is currently in its active 12-month commercial growth program. It is too early to publish outcome data, and we would rather report real results than projected ones. What we can say is this: Mistara entered the market with the clarity, coherence, and confidence of an established brand rather than a new one. The strategy, identity, and digital platform give MJ Flood a genuine competitive asset,  one designed to grow, and built to prove its value over time.

For a group of MJ Flood’s scale and reputation, that is precisely what brand investment should look like: not a refresh, but a platform for new commercial territory.

Social built to create demand, not just noise

We built the launch to create pull, not just presence. A phased social rollout moved audiences from curiosity to enquiry, teasing Mistara’s distinctive world pre-launch, then converting attention into tastings, consultations and setup enquiries. Channels were given commercial roles: Instagram and Facebook build cultural appeal, while LinkedIn does the B2B work, positioning Mistara in front of the people who sign off the contract.

A digital platform built to convert enquiries

The website works as a sales asset, not a brochure. It carries the proposition and product story through a calm, editorial experience, then routes interest into clear enquiry pathways designed to generate qualified B2B leads.

Packaging that protects the premium

Packaging had to signal quality on shelf and work as practical workplace supply. The system balances warmth and tactility with a structure built for range extension, so new roasts and formats can launch without losing Mistara’s premium cue.

Bringing Mistara to market

CDG supported Mistara’s launch with brand assets, messaging, and campaign materials across digital and physical touchpoints. The rollout established a consistent presence from website to packaging to workplace environments.

This coordinated launch enabled Mistara to enter the market with clarity and confidence as a new, differentiated coffee brand.

The outcome: a scalable brand and a new revenue stream

Mistara launched with one consistent story across website, packaging and workplace. For MJ Flood it’s more than a product: it’s a credible move into the premium category and a platform built to scale, with Mistara standing as an independent brand in its own right.
