Grandes Alpes

A Quieter Luxury that Stands Apart

The challenge: standing out at the world's most competitive address

Grandes Alpes is one of the defining addresses in Courchevel 1850, with roots back to 1948 and a reputation built on intimate scale, bespoke service and a singular ski-in, ski-out setting. In a market where every property claims luxury, nine private apartments and real heritage aren’t enough on their own, the brand had to feel as considered and distinctive as the guest experience, and to earn its place among the most prestigious names in alpine hospitality.

CDG evolved the identity across campaign concepts, advertising, editorial collateral and guest materials, translating the hotel’s atmosphere into one coherent world.

The strategy: differentiate on feeling, not excess

The commercial insight was that predictable signals of excess no longer differentiate at this tier,  everyone has them. We moved the brand toward something more enduring and harder to copy: stillness, warmth, tactility and place.

That let the hotel’s heritage, interiors and personalised service lead the story, giving the brand a premium tone that feels elevated rather than generic, and a positioning competitors can’t simply outspend.

The idea: bring the mountain inside

The defining campaign idea was simple and ownable: bring the outside in. Wildlife appeared within the suites and living spaces as if the alpine landscape had quietly crossed the threshold, turning the interior into an extension of the mountain itself. It gave the brand a distinctive conceptual edge and a visual signature that reinforces its deep connection to place, the kind of idea that makes a property memorable in a crowded field.

Touchpoints that build desire before arrival

From magazine advertising to in-room collateral, every touchpoint was built to feel calm, tactile and composed,  intimacy over spectacle. The point is commercial as much as aesthetic: a consistent, elevated experience that builds desire before a guest books, sustains it through the stay, and lingers long after departure, supporting rate, loyalty and word of mouth.

An editorial world that sells the experience, not the amenities

The editorial direction led with sensation over amenity. Rather than listing features, the communications invited guests to imagine the pace and mood of a stay, the firelit calm, the crafted interiors, the sense of being exactly where they’re meant to be.

That slower, more immersive approach aligns the brand with the hotel’s own promise of personalised, restorative hospitality, and speaks directly to the guest willing to pay for it.

The outcome: a brand asset designed to age well

The work endures because it was built on durable truths,  heritage, atmosphere, location and care, rather than trends. That’s a commercial advantage as much as a creative one: a quieter vision of luxury that won’t date, protecting the brand’s equity and saving the reinvestment a trend-chasing identity demands. A brand world designed, like the hotel itself, to age beautifully.
