CDG’s relationship with the University of Toronto began through a successful collaboration with global office solutions provider Lyreco, who initially engaged CDG to improve internal procurement processes. The quality and impact of our work quickly opened the door to multiple contracts directly with the University of Toronto, one of North America’s largest and most prestigious educational institutions.
As procurement processes became increasingly complex across campus departments, the need for a customised digital solution became evident. CDG was tasked with developing an end-to-end procurement and invoice management platform specifically tailored for high-volume, low-value goods, a common challenge within large-scale institutions. The goal was to streamline purchasing across departments, improve transparency, and reduce administrative overhead.
The outcome was so successful that CDG spun out a dedicated technology company, 3Procure Technologies, to manage the platform’s growth and development. This move allowed us to bring innovation in procurement management not only to the University of Toronto but also to other large institutions and organisations facing similar challenges.
Today, the platform supports seamless digital workflows for purchase orders, invoice reconciliation, supplier management, and reporting — all within a user-friendly interface. It has helped the university drastically reduce procurement cycle times and gain better control over non-core spending.
Our work with the University of Toronto exemplifies CDG’s commitment to solving real-world operational challenges through smart digital transformation. It also highlights the potential for collaboration between the public and private sectors to create scalable, impact-driven technology.
